Social distancing continues to be the new normal as we do our part to lower the curve during this pandemic, and USO Denver’s Trivia Night Live! has quickly become a fun event for military families to look forward to each Thursday night.

This week’s teams tested their knowledge on a pretty tough set of questions, but there’s more to this trivia event than meets the eye. In fact, this family summed up the theme of everyone’s feedback this week saying, “[Trivia Night Live!] was a great way to bring us all together for a bit of fun, much needed laughter, and to stretch our brains a little more.”

We heard from one couple, “Team Marvel,” as they were making arrangements to participate in our trivia event together as their date night while they are geographically separated due to the current travel restrictions in place for military members and their families. They placed 6th overall!

Another family sent us a fantastic photo (above) with the caption, “When your husband from Hawaii answers the question ‘which ocean is the largest?’ incorrectly.”

The 35 teams who played this week represented all five branches of the military, Army, Marine Corps, Navy, Air Force and Coast Guard, as well as all service components, National Guard, reserves, and active duty. They are located across many, many miles – Wyoming, Colorado, and Nevada! All came together online for some laughs and a great morale boost.

Congratulations to this week’s winners! In third place, Team “Hansons-MMMBop!” with 153 points, and coming in second place with 160 points was Team “Banta Family aka Oliverosrp,” and finally, our 1st place team, “That’s Us” scored 163 points! All three winning teams received a gift card to a local restaurant so they can enjoy a family dinner together at home.

Join us next week for “Trivia Night Live!” More than 25 teams have already signed up to play again next week. There is still plenty of room – up to 100 teams can play at a time! Teams wishing to compete must pre-register and must be currently serving military members - all branches and components, including active duty, national guard, reserves, and coalition forces are welcome.
